US Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy Tours Arkansas

US Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy was in Arkansas recently to look at the progress on multiple projects that are creating jobs and making travel easier. He spent time with ARDOT Director Jared Wiley and U.S. Representative Steve Womack.
What jumped out was the thoughtful way these two leaders talk about what the state is doing to build infrastructure and why it matters for our future. This picture stands out. Duffy, Womack, and Wiley are standing in front of the new bridge being built over the Arkansas River at Barling. This is a hugely complex project that will make it easier to get from NWA to all points south. The I-49 extension from Alma to Barling is another step in keeping Arkansas at the heart of the American supply chain.
This tour came just a few weeks after the dedication of the new road from the Springdale Bypass to the Northwest Arkansas National Airport. There is a great deal to celebrate when taxpayer resources are used thoughtfully and strategically. Showing the Secretary of Transportation around was another reminder that we live in a wonderful state.
