Arkansas Highway Police Wrap Up Operation Highway Shield

The Arkansas Highway Police and federal officials engaged this week in a major operation to pull illegal drivers and vehicles off Arkansas highways.
Close to 400 drivers and trucks were taken out of service for various violations, including English proficiency issues. It’s critical that highway police and federal officials work together to guarantee the safety of people who drive legally and safely versus those who do not.
By the numbers:
1,724 inspections conducted
393 drivers and trucks placed out of service
330+ unqualified or unauthorized drivers identified
44 criminal arrests and 1 stolen trailer recovered
